How to Recruit Tom

Tom is available through the Skyward Recruit system. Players can acquire him by spending diamonds or by using Skyward Recruit Tickets. These tickets are obtainable through multiple sources such as:

  • Daily and weekly missions
  • Chapter completion rewards
  • Seasonal events (e.g., Navigation Pass)
  • Login bonuses

While pulling Tom can depend on luck, consistent engagement with these systems significantly improves your chances of obtaining him without heavy spending.

Skill

Main Cannon

Tom’s main weapon fires a marble-like projectile that explodes on impact, dealing area damage. The ability improves as stars are added:

  • 2 Stars: Fires two projectiles
  • 3 Stars: Fires three projectiles
  • Evolved: Projectiles turn green and deal significantly higher damage

This makes his main cannon a reliable tool for both mob clearing and single-target damage.

Stunt

The Dumbbell Toss is one of Tom’s most effective tools. It penetrates enemies in a straight line and then drops vertically, striking again. This allows it to hit targets twice per cast.

  • Damage and range increase as it levels up
  • Larger dumbbells at higher levels
  • Each successful hit reduces the cooldown of his passive skill

This double-hit mechanic provides strong synergy with Tom’s mines, ensuring more consistent area control.

Passive – TNT Deployment

Every 8 seconds, Tom automatically drops a TNT mine:

  • Explodes if an enemy enters its trigger radius
  • Automatically detonates after 8 seconds
  • Up to five mines can exist at once

Additionally, each time the Dumbbell Toss damages an enemy, the cooldown for TNT is reduced by 0.5 seconds. This allows advanced players to control the battlefield by chaining dumbbell strikes and mines for continuous pressure.

Ultimate

Tom’s ultimate skill provides both offensive burst and survivability.

  • Grants invulnerability while active
  • Siphons projectiles from off-screen
  • Redirects them at enemies in range

This ability is particularly effective against bosses, allowing players to remove high-priority threats quickly while avoiding incoming damage.

Exclusive Wingman

Tom’s exclusive wingman significantly enhances his late-game performance.

  • Summons a decoy mouse every 5 seconds
  • Exterminator hurls random items at the decoy, dealing AoE damage equal to 28% of attack
  • Each unique item type increases permanent damage against individual enemies

This scaling mechanic is most valuable in extended fights, particularly against bosses, where the continuous stacking damage becomes decisive.

In practice, Tom excels at both mob clearing and boss encounters. His main cannon and stunt manage waves effectively, while his passive mines provide consistent area denial. During boss fights, the synergy between Mouse Exterminator, dumbbell strikes, and Trash Blast creates overwhelming pressure that few enemies can withstand.

Unlike some pilots who specialize in only one aspect of combat, Tom’s versatility allows him to adapt well to multiple situations, making him a strong all-around investment.

Tom stands out as one of the top-tier pilots in Acecraft, combining crowd control, burst damage, and survivability in a cohesive kit. His synergy between passive and active skills ensures he remains effective in both early-game content and late-game boss fights.
