Planet Defense Space TD game Beginner Guide Wiki & Cheats

This Planet Defense Space TD game Beginner Guide collects the practical tactics from the video and expands them into a step-by-step, actionable plan you can use from early grind to late-game. Read it as a checklist you can follow between sessions: what to farm, what to upgrade, how to choose modules, and how to run difficult stages efficiently.

Energy, Stamina, VIP, and economy

Energy/Stamina is the pace limiter. Use energy on auto patrols and events that give the best returns (daily dungeons, binary star, stage chests).

VIP gives convenience, not necessity. VIP unlocks double-speed and convenience features (and costs real money). Don’t buy unless you plan to play regularly and want to speed progression.

Diamonds are premium — spend carefully. Save for unlocking 6th chip slots only if you absolutely need it, otherwise prioritize event shards and planet/mothership upgrade mats.

Understanding stages and enemy weaknesses

Tap the question mark next to a stage to preview enemy types and weaknesses. Prioritize your loadout for the majority of mobs on that stage.

If most mobs are weak to a single damage type, favor skills/modules that deal that damage. If only one boss is problematic but mobs are weak to something else, prioritize the mobs if they deal most of the damage.

Many enemies have mixed resistances — target the ones giving you the most trouble (the ones that survive and reach the planet) rather than blindly countering the boss.

Modules, chips, and equipment — how to choose

Modules are the core of your build. Equip and upgrade modules that match the damage type your current stages require (physical, electric, gravity, radiation, etc.).

Chips modify modules. You can socket up to 5 chips (6th slot unlockable with diamonds). Use chips to:

Boost the primary damage type you rely on (e.g., missile crit if missiles are your DPS).

Add utility like splash, dot, or healing if that helps with crowded waves.

Omega chests have higher chances of rare chips (good for module power). Nova chests skew more to common/fine chips — still useful early on.

Binary Stars and daily dungeons give the best chance at epic/legendary modules — run them when you can.

Skill upgrades & ultimate usage

Prioritize skills that do continuous or multi-hit damage (damage-over-time, persistent missiles, bouncing projectiles). These scale far better across waves than single-hit nukes.

Missile-type skills and constant barrage often outperform single-shot skills in sustained DPS — unlock and favor them where possible.

Gravity Nova / AoE skills are extremely valuable on crowded maps. Upgrade them when you expect heavy crowding.

Manual ultimate use is usually better than auto: turn off auto to use ultimates strategically (save for clutch waves or boss phases). Use the ultimate at the latest effective moment for maximum value.

If you must AFK-grind, enable auto and accept suboptimal ultimate timing to keep farming.

DPS tracking & stage tuning

Pause and check the damage breakdown mid-stage to see which module is doing the most DPS. Use this information to:

Switch chips to amplify your top performer.

Replace underperforming modules with ones that synergize better with the current stage.

Example: if missiles are top DPS, boost missile crit, crit damage, and missile damage chips.

Planet, Mothership and Cosmo upgrades

Planet upgrades (gain with player level) are steady, permanent boosts — invest when you have spare resources.

Mothership and Cosmo upgrades rely on event mats; attend events and save shards for them. They offer major late-game boosts and should be prioritized around major progression thresholds.

Alloys and rare upgrade items are usually event-limited — don’t spend them on small gains early. Save for key milestones or to unlock a crucial module.

Stage selection strategy

Grinding: replay older stages you haven’t perfect cleared. They yield steady materials and are fast to complete.

Gear & chips: run stage chests and binary stars for rare chips and module blueprints — even failures can drop valuable items.

Events/dailies: prioritize daily dungeon and event maps for the rarest materials. They often have guaranteed or higher chances of blueprints and shards.

Recommended module & chip priorities (general)

Persistent damage (missiles, barrage, DoT) — first priority.

Bounce/burst modifiers for electric/beam when many weak points exist.

AoE upgrades (gravity nova, explosions) for crowded stages.

Crit/crit damage chips if your module’s base crit scales well.

Survivability chips (planet heal between waves) if you’re struggling to perfect clear.

Combos and sample builds

Missile-Barrage Build (general-purpose)

Modules: Missile + Missile Amp + Barrage modifier

Chips: Missile damage, Missile crit, DPS over time, Planet heal (optional)

Use when missiles are highest DPS or when stages allow consistent missile hits.

Electric Bounce / Beam Build (mob weakness electric)

Modules: Ball Lightning + Beam Refract + Bounce upgrades

Chips: Beam damage, bounce effect amplifier, crit on bounce

Use on stages where many mobs are weak to electric.

Gravity Nova Crowd Control (tight maps)

Modules: Gravity Nova + Splash extension + multi-wave gravity

Chips: AoE damage, cooldown reduction, gravity duration

Use when enemies bunch up or on boss waves with adds.

Physical Auto-aim / Tank Bust (manual optional)

Modules: High single-target with auto-aim modules for general survival

Chips: Physical damage boost, armor penetration, upgrade range

Boss fights: approach and tactics

Pre-check weaknesses with the stage info. Equip modules and chips that match the majority weaknesses.

Turn off boss lock (skull) or turn it on depending on whether you want to focus the boss or clear adds first. Many fights require you to clear adds to avoid overwhelming damage.

Save your ultimate for boss phases that spawn adds or when the boss enters a dangerous state. Use ultimates to reset crowded waves.
