Bomber Ace WW2 Missiles & Flares Guide – How to Use Them
Once you start getting deeper into Bomber Ace, you will notice missiles and flares dropping in your missions. These are not just bonus items — used correctly, they make certain levels dramatically easier.
Here is exactly how they work and when you should be using them.
How You Get Missiles and Flares
You collect them directly during missions.
They usually appear after destroying enemies and float in bubbles in the air.
Fly through the bubble to pick them up.
You can also tap their icons on the main screen to buy more, but this spends your coins — so avoid tapping unless you actually want to purchase them.
Where to Equip Them
Go to the Armory.
- The Decoy Flare Launcher unlocks after Level 60
- The Missile Launcher unlocks shortly after
You must equip them on your plane for them to work.
If they are not equipped, they will not activate in combat.
How Missiles Work
There are two missile types:
Air-to-Ground Missiles
These are fired manually by tapping the missile button.
They are perfect for shielded enemies and heavy ground targets.
Air-to-Air Missiles
These lock onto enemy planes.
When the targeting reticle turns red, tap the missile button to fire.
These make dogfights much easier and are one of the fastest ways to clear enemy aircraft.
How Flares Work
Flares are automatic.
Whenever an enemy fires a homing missile at you, your flare launcher will automatically deploy flares to divert it.
You do not control them manually.
Just remember:
If you run out of flares, missiles can hit you again — so keep collecting flare drops when you see them.
Important Tips
- Do not spam the missile button — you can burn through your stock very quickly
- Always make sure flares are equipped if the mission has homing missile enemies
- If you prefer more bombs or guns, you can swap flares out — but you will be more vulnerable
These three tools makes Bomber Ace far more forgiving — especially in later stages where enemies become much more aggressive.
