StoneAge Idle Adventure Beginner Guide – Pets, Trainers

StoneAge Idle Adventure has finally launched globally, and if you enjoy idle RPGs with collecting, upgrading, and constant progression, this one quickly becomes addictive. At first glance it may feel like a typical idle game, but the pet system and trainer progression add enough depth to keep things interesting.

If you are just starting out, it’s very easy to waste resources or progress slower than necessary. This guide breaks down the most important beginner tips — from redeeming the launch code to building a strong pet team and maximizing early power.

Redeem the Global Launch Code First

Before doing anything else, grab the free rewards from the launch code. This gives you a helpful boost early in the game.

Active Code

  • STONELAUNCH – Rewards 1,000 Blue Gems

How to redeem the code

  1. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Open Settings (Cog icon).
  3. Scroll down to the Account section.
  4. Tap Redeem Code.
  5. Enter STONELAUNCH in all capital letters.
  6. Confirm and claim the reward from your Mailbox.

Keep in mind you won’t see the redeem option immediately. You must progress a little into the early story until the game unlocks the mailbox and settings features. Usually this happens somewhere around Chapter 2.

Those free gems are extremely useful early on, especially for pet summons.

Trainers (Woody and Lucy)

In StoneAge Idle Adventure, your main characters are called Trainers. They lead your pets and gain power through leveling and equipment.

At the start of the game, you’ll mainly use:

  • Woody
  • Lucy (unlocked later)

A lot of beginners make the mistake of dumping all their resources into Woody early. That actually slows down your progress.

Instead, focus on unlocking equipment slots.

Equipment gives a massive boost to your power. Because of that, your main goal should be leveling trainers only until all equipment slots unlock.

Example progression:

  • Woody unlocks all equipment slots around Level 17.
  • Lucy requires roughly Level 30 to unlock her final slot.

Once Lucy is unlocked, it’s usually better to shift your leveling resources toward her until all her equipment slots are open.

That extra gear slot alone can increase your combat power dramatically.

Equip Gear

Instead of traditional gear farming, StoneAge Idle Adventure uses something called Capture.

Think of it like opening gear boxes.

You’ll find the Capture button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Every capture gives equipment that can be equipped to your trainers.

When managing gear, follow a simple rule:

  • If an item has a green arrow, equip it immediately.
  • If not, dismantle it.

Dismantling gear gives materials used to level up the capture system, which increases the chances of getting higher rarity equipment later.

So even bad gear is still useful.

This creates a satisfying loop:

Capture → Equip upgrades → Dismantle extras → Improve capture level → Get better gear.

SS Pet (Nord)

Early in the game you’ll receive a guaranteed SS pet through events. This pet will likely be Nord.

For free-to-play players, Nord becomes the backbone of your team early on.

You’ll obtain multiple copies of this pet through gameplay events and progression. These duplicates allow you to upgrade and evolve the pet quickly.

Because of that, Nord usually becomes your first fully upgraded SS unit.

Make sure to:

  • Level him regularly
  • Upgrade him whenever duplicates appear
  • Use him as a core damage or support pet early on

It’s one of the easiest ways to get strong without spending money.

Pet Talents

Things get more interesting once pets reach SS rank.

At that point you unlock Talents.

Talents work like sub-stats that modify how a pet performs in battle. You can roll different stat bonuses that improve things like:

  • Damage
  • Defense
  • Speed
  • Support effectiveness

This allows you to tailor pets to specific roles.

For example:

A damage dealer might roll talents that increase attack or critical stats, while a support pet benefits more from healing or defensive bonuses.

Once talents unlock, the game stops feeling like a simple idle RPG and starts offering real build choices.

Build a Balanced Pet Team

A strong team isn’t just about rarity. The role of each pet matters.

Every pet has two important identifiers:

  1. Element (like Wind)
  2. Class Type

The main classes include:

Defense (Tank)
These pets absorb damage and should be placed in the front line.

Melee Damage Dealers
High close-range damage, similar to berserkers.

Ranged Attackers
Archers or spellcasters that deal damage from behind the frontline.

Support Pets
Healers and buffers that keep your team alive.

A balanced team might look something like this:

  • 1 Tank
  • 1–2 Melee attackers
  • 1 Ranged attacker
  • 1 Support unit

If you run only damage dealers without a tank or support, your team will collapse quickly in harder stages.

Pet Summons and Draw Levels

Summoning pets works through the Pet Draw system, which increases in level as you summon more.

A common beginner mistake is immediately summoning from the featured banner.

Don’t do that yet.

Instead, focus on leveling your basic pet draw to Level 3 first.

Once you reach Draw Level 3, the game unlocks a special featured summon banner that contains a very powerful pet.

From that point forward, switch all your summons to the featured banner.

This approach maximizes your chances of getting stronger pets earlier.

Complete the Codex for Permanent Stat Boosts

One of the most underrated progression systems in the game is the Codex.

Every time you:

  • Collect a new pet
  • Evolve a pet

You unlock entries in the Codex.

Each entry provides permanent stat bonuses for your entire account, such as:

  • Attack percentage increase
  • Defense boost
  • HP increase

Even weak pets contribute to these bonuses.

So don’t ignore low-rarity pets. Collecting and evolving them still makes your entire roster stronger.

Over time, these Codex bonuses stack up and significantly increase your overall power.

StoneAge Idle Adventure follows the classic idle RPG formula, but the pet system, talents, and codex bonuses give it more depth than most games in the genre.

The early game is all about unlocking equipment slots, building a balanced pet team, and collecting as many pets as possible. Once talents and higher rarity summons start appearing, the real progression begins.

Play consistently, manage your upgrades carefully, and the game becomes surprisingly rewarding.

And honestly, watching your small prehistoric pet team slowly evolve into a powerhouse squad is one of the most satisfying parts of the experience.
