1. Auto Attack

When you first start playing Death Must Die, you will see a screen with a list of commands. One of the most essential bits of tips we can give you is to press Q to enable Auto Attack.

This lets your character attack enemies on its own, freeing your focus to concentrate on other things like dodging and collecting XP gems. But remember that using Auto Attack slows down your movement a little bit.

Auto Attack is generally a good idea to use, especially when you are first starting out. However, there are some situations where it may be better to turn it off.

For example, if you are trying to kite enemies, you will need to be able to control your character’s movement more precisely. If you are playing with a controller, you can also use the left trigger to toggle Auto Attack on and off.

2. Prioritize Exploration

Staying in one area for too long is one of the most common mistakes you can make in Death Must Die as a beginner. Don’t linger in one area for too long. Take your time exploring the map to find shrines, hidden treasures, and powerful Buffs that can boost your character’s skills. These Buffs can increase your damage, movement speed, and provide other benefits.

Pay attention to the mini-map in the top right corner of the screen. The mini-map will show you the layout of the map and the locations of any Shrines that are nearby.

If you see a yellow marker on the mini-map, head towards it. There is a Shrine in that area that you can activate for a Buff.

3. Focus on Improving Your Best Abilities

You will level up and gain access to new abilities as you progress through the game and collect XP gems. It is better to upgrade your best abilities first, rather than spreading your points among several weaker ones. This will have a big effect on how strong your character is.

When you are presented with a new ability, think of whether it is an improvement over an existing ability by reading the description. Accept it if it is. If not, then don’t bother. XP gems can also be used to enhance your skills. You can find XP gems by breaking vases, opening chests, and killing enemies.

4. Master Dodging and Dashing

Dodging is one of the most important skills to learn in Death Must Die. If you can learn to dodge enemy attacks, you will be able to survive much longer in your runs. There are a few different ways to dodge in Death Must Die.

You can dash, roll, or jump. Experiment with different dodging techniques to find what works best for you. You can also upgrade your dodging ability by using XP gems. This will make your dodges more effective and allow you to dodge more attacks.

5. Gear is Important

Gear is even more essential than XP in Death Must Die because it is carried over to future runs. When you find new gear, make sure to compare it to what you are currently wearing to see if it is an upgrade. If it is, don’t hesitate to equip it!

Moreover, you can also use XP gems to upgrade your gear. This will increase the power of your gear and provide you an edge during runs.

6. Try Different Characters

You can play as a variety of characters in Death Must Die, each with special skills and ways of playing. It would be wise that you play with each character to figure out which one you enjoy the most. Every character has pros and cons of their own.

For instance, the Assassin is a glass cannon that is good at dealing damage, and the Knight is a tank that is good at taking it.

7. Save Your Gold

Keep in mind that gold is a valuable resource, so avoid using it all up right away. Save your gold for upgrades or new equipment that will make a big difference in your game. By killing enemies, smashing vases, and opening chests, you can find gold.

You can also sell items that you don’t need in order to get gold. Click on the item you want to sell, and then click the sell button.

8. Look Out for Crowned Enemies

Enemies with crowns above their heads will drop Loot when killed. When fighting, prioritize eliminating these enemies first because the loot they drop can be very useful. Crowned enemies are typically more powerful than other enemies, so use upgraded gear when dealing with them.

When defeated, crowned enemies can give away XP gems, gold, and new equipment as loot. It can also include special items that can give you a temporary advantage, such as a shield that can block all attacks for a short period of time.

We hope these tips that I’ve given in this guide will help you become a master of Death Must Die game!
