Walk of Life 100% Achievement Guide (Early Access 0.42)
A complete, organized achievement guide with clear methods for easy, medium, and hard achievements, tips for global-event and round-based achievements, and a fully worked Pawn Star Tech money loop for fast completion.
Achievement groups
General (Easy) — quick and usually self-explanatory; many happen naturally while playing.
General (Medium) — require short sequences or attention to specific actions; I included step-by-step methods.
General (Hard) — long or high-cost targets; best tackled with Pawn Star Tech or long runs.
Global Event-Based — trigger-dependent; plan rounds so events spawn when you’re ready.
Round-Based — achievements requiring repeated actions over consecutive rounds.
Pawn Star Tech — a repeating buy-and-pawn loop that rapidly generates money for expensive achievements.
General Achievements
These are straightforward; I include short notes where the approach matters.
Baby Steps — Complete the tutorial. (Do it once; saves future confusion.)
Basket Case — Max your stress meter. Let stressful events stack or ignore stress relief items for a while.
Destroy Progress — Eat at Cluckers after working out at the gym. Do both in the same round.
Free William — Relax while naked with max happiness. Combine relaxation activities (park/TV) until happiness is max, then strip down and relax.
Go Streaking — Visit the Academy while naked. Academy visit + naked state same round.
Make Landlady Work — Have furniture pawned for unpaid rent. Let rent go unpaid and pawn furniture when eviction threat happens.
Maniac Mansion — Move into the fancy apartment. Purchase the fancy apartment when you meet the cost requirement.
Nerd Alert — Obtain 9 degrees in one game. Use repeated education actions or training options.
Never Tell Me the Odds — Win the Lottery. Buying more tickets increases chances slightly; persistence wins this.
No Fate But What We Make — Win a game vs CPU. Start a vs-CPU match and finish first.
No pants, no problems — Win a game butt naked. Clothes degrade — play a single session and only sleep to preserve this status, or strip at the right time.
No Time To Relax — Win a game as Workaholic. Choose Workaholic and finish a match.
One Percenter — Get a tier 6 job. Play long enough (20–30 rounds); Workaholic helps.
Pet Pet — Clean and play with your pet in the same round. Have a pet, use play and wash options consecutively.
Reliable Resident — Don’t miss rent in a whole game. Budget carefully; use Pawn Star Tech if needed.
Six degrees from Porcelain — Play against someone who has that achievement. Use community or Discord to find matches.
Stick it to the Man — Lose your job. Avoid work for four rounds; you’ll be fired.
Taskmaster — Complete one short, one medium, and one long quest in the same game. Track quest types and time accordingly.
That one song by Madonna — Win a game as Hoarder. Choose Hoarder and win.
Then I took an arrow to the knee — Win as Adventurer. Choose Adventurer and win.
This is Fine — Get three negative reports in a single round. Trigger three different negative events or fail three checks in one round.
Touch Grass — Touch grass: use the park interactions.
Two Chicks at the Same Time — Buy two chicken buckets in the same round. Purchase two meals at the same location in one turn.
General Achievements
These often require a planned sequence or timing.
Beast Ascended — Max out your pet’s attributes
Steps:
Buy a pet from the Mall.
Buy Pet Food Ultra and Basic Soap.
Play with the pet for 4 consecutive rounds (use play/pet actions each round).
On the 4th round, use play then wash; that final wash often triggers the attribute cap. Keep the pet fed and clean consistently.
Fire? I hardly even know her — Buy a fire extinguisher and a fire alarm in the same round
Fast method (round 1 example, Hoarder recommended for coupons):
Start as Hoarder for coupon advantage.
Visit the Mall and buy three small items that trigger discounts (example: Knife Set, Picture Frame, Scented Candle). Claim the free/discount item to generate funds.
Pawn those items in the Pawn Shop to boost funds.
Return to Mall and repeat the buy/sell sequence to trigger the larger free item (fridge or artifact display case) via coupon. Pawn everything to pad cash.
Once you have enough, buy both the fire extinguisher and fire alarm in one shopping trip. End the round — achievement triggers.
Detailed coupon steps in the full Pawn Star Tech section below show the loop you can copy.
I want fries with that — Eat all 10 main-menu fries
Locations:
- Main Menu — 2
- Start New Game screen — 2
- Settings screen — 6
Visit or click through these menu screens and use the fries action where available. The game tracks the menu-based interactions separately.
That’s a wash — Wash your hands in every bathroom in a single game
Locations to wash:
Clucker’s, The Mall, The Academy, The Bank (Golden Throne counts as a “wash” only after meeting Bank requirements: Level 2 Education and Tier 2 Clothes). Visit each location and use the wash action within one game.
Valued Customer — Eat Cluckers every turn in a long game
Requirements:
Only purchased meals count; floor fries do not.
Tip: Play Hoarder to track purchases; each purchased meal adds a star to your coupon card, making tracking easier.
WAAAGH — Perform 4 different workout actions in the same round
Perform three gym actions (weight, treadmill, etc.) and finish with the Park action “Push the Big Rock” in the same round. Time your action queue so you don’t run out of actions.
General Achievements — Hard (long grind or high cost)
These are best done with the Pawn Star Tech loop or in a long (30 round) game.
Dress for the job you want — Buy tier 4 clothes without any education. Save up using Pawn Star Tech, then purchase the clothes directly. No education required, but expensive.
For a Biblical Flood — Store 10,000 cash in the bank at once. Pawn Star Tech will make this easy.
Maximalist — Fill the fancy apartment with furniture. Requirements: purchase all furniture and electronics from the Mall plus required Pawn Shop items; minimum cost around $9,000 using Hoarder discounts. Use Pawn Star Tech for funds.
Naked and Afraid — Spend 50 rounds naked. Manage clothing degradation or deliberately avoid purchasing clothing for many rounds. A long 30-round + another session will be needed.
Pawnography — Pawn items for a total of 50,000 cash. Pawn Star Tech is built for this.
Questing Beast — Complete 100 quests. This is time-consuming — use long games and accept all quest types.
Quit while you’re ahead — Move from fancy apartment to crappy basement. Sell your furniture, stop paying rent, or explicitly move down to the lower tier home.
Robotic Roommates — Buy both Security System and Knife-Roomba in the same round. Coordinate purchases in Mall/Pawn Shop to complete this simultaneously.
Walk of Life — Walk 10,000 steps. Best done across multiple long games while performing lots of movement actions and workouts.
Global Event-Based Achievements
Global events are time-triggered; one common pattern is that a global event typically starts on round 3 (or round 4 if none on round 3). Plan your run so the relevant activity is ready when the event spawns.
Heatwave Hater — During Heatwave event, bathe in the pond twice. Wait for Heatwave, go to the pond and bathe twice during the event window.
I’m Doing My Part — Vote in mayoral elections. Voting occurs at the Job Office during election events.
Loose your precious — Have your fridge stolen during Crime Wave. Let the event run and ensure your fridge is vulnerable (not in secure storage).
Revenge on Ursula — Fish up an Octopus in Fishing Frenzy event. Must be caught during Fishing Frenzy and require inventory space (at least 5 slots). Capturing during the event yields multiple fish types as well.
Undecided Voter — Vote for every candidate once across election cycles. Clicking other candidates after your initial vote still counts; repeat until achievement triggers.
Round-Based Achievements
Many of these can be done in a 10-round game if you plan actions.
Couch Potato — Relax for 10 rounds. Choose relaxation actions each turn.
Enter Sandman — Sleep 10 rounds in a row. Prioritize sleep actions for ten consecutive turns.
Don’t Stop Believing — Buy lottery tickets 10 rounds in a row. Purchase the ticket purchase action each turn.
Throne of Bhaal — Feed the crows every round in a game. Make sure to interact with the crow action each round; a 10-round run completes this.
Pawn Star Tech
This loop is the fastest way in v0.42 to generate large, repeatable sums for expensive achievements. It relies on the Hoarder’s coupon/discount interactions to obtain free or heavily discounted items which you pawn for profit.
Requirements and tips
Class: Hoarder (best for coupon/discount exploitation).
Minimum starting funds: Aim for at least $500 and access to the Fancy Apartment to start the endless loop. Starting with ~$200 can work if you complete the first setup sequence to reach $1,000+.
Claim “Artifact Display Case” whenever it appears as your free coupon item — it pawns for very good value. Use coupon timing carefully.
Eat every round while looping (the Hoarder coupon tracks meals and helps keep actions predictable).
Setup phase (Round 1 example; start with ~$200)
Buy and immediately pawn small items that activate your coupon discounts. Example buys: Knife Set, Picture Frame, Scented Candle. Pawn them in the Pawn Shop.
Repeat the buy/pawn cycle to trigger a free/discounted large item (Large Picture Frame, Cool Fridge etc.) via coupon. Pawn that free item as well.
Use the cash to rent the Fancy Apartment once you have enough funds. Pawn remaining goods to leave with a comfortable balance (example result: ~$1,094 depending on prices and coupons).
Buy food at the end of the setup round to keep the Hoarder coupon tracker active.
The Pawn Star loop (the repeating core)
Once you have at least ~$500 and the Fancy Apartment:
BUY ALL — Purchase the targeted set of Mall and pawnable items that fit on the coupon (use whatever your coupon lists; the loop works because you can claim a heavily discounted or free item).
PAWN ALL — Immediately take everything to the Pawn Shop and sell.
REPEAT — Return next round and do the same.
Each loop reliably generates ~+$1,000 (amount varies by coupon and sale prices). Repeat as many times as needed to reach high-cost achievements (Maximalist, For a Biblical Flood, Pawnography, etc.).
Practical notes
Keep an eye on coupon timing — claiming the wrong free item can reduce profit. The display order matters: always try to claim Artifact Display Case when available.
Eat every round to avoid missing tracked coupon benefits and to maintain consistent in-game action flow.
Once you have enough funds, switch from pure farming to targeted purchases for furniture or high-cost achievement items.
