Bullet Heroes TD Beginner Guide – Abilities, Heroes

If you’re just starting Bullet Heroes TD, the game can feel simple at first—but once enemies start stacking up, you quickly realize there’s a lot going on under the surface. The difference between struggling and progressing smoothly mostly comes down to how you manage your resources and make decisions during battles.

Let’s break it down in a more natural way.

Bullet Heroes TD Beginner Guide – Abilities, Heroes

The game constantly throws free stuff at you—but only if you pay attention. Whenever you see a red notification icon, there’s usually something you can claim. It might be coins, hero cards, or chests, and skipping these slows your progress more than you think.

Gold coins are your main currency. These are what actually make you stronger over time through permanent upgrades. Silver coins are more of a side system—they’re used in the base camp to unlock hero HQs, which passively generate hero cards. It’s not flashy, but it’s one of the most reliable ways to grow your account in the background.

Heroes

Early on, the biggest mistake players make is choosing heroes that only hit one enemy at a time. That might sound fine, but in reality, you’ll be overwhelmed by groups very quickly.

Heroes with area damage (like freezing or electric types) are just much better at handling early waves. They clear faster, take less damage, and give you more breathing room. You can experiment later, but at the start, AoE is king.

Progression in this game is basically a loop. You push normal stages to unlock new content, and when things get hard, you go back and farm hard mode for better rewards.

Hard mode is especially useful because it gives you more resources for upgrading. If you ever feel stuck, it usually means you should stop pushing forward for a bit and farm instead.

Also, don’t waste gems too early. It’s tempting to spend them on energy or random stuff, but you’ll get much more value saving them for better chests or meaningful upgrades.

Battles

This is where most runs are won or lost.

When you level up during a run, you’ll get random upgrade choices. Some of them look flashy, but the best ones are actually pretty straightforward.

Anything that increases how many bullets you shoot is extremely strong. More bullets = more damage, simple as that. Critical chance is also very powerful, especially when you stack it multiple times. Over time, it turns into huge damage spikes.

You also need to pay attention to ammo. If you run out, your run is basically over. That’s why upgrades that improve ammo generation are just as important as damage. A good balance between both is what keeps your build stable.

Abilities

A lot of players hold onto abilities for too long, thinking they should “save them.” That usually backfires.

You should be using your abilities regularly—especially when enemies start stacking or pushing too close. Pushback skills, healing, and burst damage abilities are all meant to keep you alive in tough moments, not sit unused.

The only time you really want to hold back is right before a boss wave. Going into a boss with your abilities ready makes things much easier.

Small Tricks That Help a Lot

One thing you’ll notice is that some enemies explode or deal damage when they die. If you time it right and let them get close to groups, they’ll help you clear waves faster. It’s a small detail, but it makes a difference.

Also, if you don’t get full rewards on a level, don’t just move on. Replay it. With better upgrades or slightly better luck, you can often get all rewards on the second try.

You don’t need perfect builds or crazy luck to progress. What matters more is consistency.

Focus on:

  • Keeping your damage steady
  • Making sure you never run out of ammo
  • Picking upgrades that scale over time

Once you get comfortable with that rhythm, the game starts feeling much easier—and a lot more rewarding.
