Inventory 101

Your stash is not storage—it’s more like a quest hub container for essential items you’ll need consistently. Think of it as a secure locker, not a junk drawer. What should go in there?

Quest items

  • One solid weapon
  • Ammo
  • Bandages (crafted from makeshift cloth)
  • Cooked food and consumables that give stamina or healing boosts

Always carry:

  • Berries and mushrooms (for health regen)
  • Bandages (they’re your main healing over time)

Up to 3 consumables (1 health, 2 stamina is a good combo early game)

Prism Scanning & Databanks

Once you’ve got the basics covered, use your prism scanner on a Databank to unlock points on your ARC Computer.

You’ll need two databanks to unlock your first Shipyard, which is a huge milestone in progression.

Stuck here? Shoot those flying shrimp-looking enemies with your grapple to collect Atlas Dust—a key crafting component.

Mass Gathering Tools

Now that you’re thinking about building a ship, you’ll need a lot of materials. This is where two essential tools come into play:

  • Pulse Hammer – For Stone & Ores
  • Hold the fire button to uncover gray rock.
  • Look for the yellow veins—these are your target for mining.
  • Hitting dark gray areas can trigger poison-shooting enemies—don’t bother unless you’re ready.

Smelt ores into ingots (even scrap counts as metal, so save rare ones for later tech).

Energy Saw – For Wood & Animals

Cuts trees fast and can carve animals into usable parts (especially helpful for crafting and cooking).

Start at the base, cut, and gather quickly.

Some aggressive animals give high-tier consumables, so don’t sleep on hunting.

Store extra wood and metal on your ship, so when you land on a new island, you’re ready to build again without restarting the grind.

Ship Building Basics

Once you have your shipyard, it’s time to build your mobile base. Think long-term. This isn’t a one-and-done ship; it’s your hub for exploration, storage, and crafting.

Early Ship Tips:

  • Use the default blueprints if you’re unsure.
  • You’ll be working with wind-powered sails initially:
  • Square sail in the center
  • Triangle (tailwind) sail in the back
  • Hang around the shipyard to test and tweak—one misplaced part can mess up steering.

Store crafting stations, forge, cooking areas onboard to avoid building them repeatedly on each island.

Critical Systems:

Weight and aerodynamics matter. You can’t just slap things on and expect to fly smooth.

Eventually, you’ll unlock engines (no wind required), which offer better control and speed.

Build a grappling plank! It’s a long platform that makes it easier to grapple back onto your ship if you fall midair. Lifesaver.

Combat, Enemies, & Farming Drones

Need rare materials like Power Cores or Nano Energy?

You’ll find them by killing drones and machines.

If they’re not dropping loot, move to a new area—drones spawn organically, and farming in one spot won’t help.

Use the grapple trick to kill drones safely from higher ground.
