Mongil Star Dive Tier List – Conquest Best Characters
If you’ve been checking different tier lists for Mongil: Star Dive, you’ve probably noticed one big problem — most of them just rank characters without explaining why they are placed there.
This guide fixes that. Everything here is based on early progression (A0–A2 awakenings), which is where most players actually are. Instead of just listing tiers, this breaks down how each character performs in World/Path (Story), Conquest, and Dimensional Rift, because each mode demands something completely different.
Mongil Star Dive Tier List – Conquest, Dimensional Rift Tier List
Before judging any character, it is important to understand what each mode actually needs.
World / Path (Story) is very forgiving and focuses mainly on AoE damage and smooth clearing, while healing is almost irrelevant because you are constantly recovering through waypoints.
Conquest is boss-focused and rewards high single-target damage, strong Neutralization (stagger), and useful utility like shields or buffs.
Dimensional Rift is essentially a timed version of Story where speed, mobility, and fast AoE matter the most, along with some level of stagger utility.
World / Path Tier List (Story Mode)
This mode is mostly about clearing groups of enemies quickly, so characters with strong AoE and consistent uptime perform the best.
S Tier — Best for Fast Clearing
Narae stands out as a future-defining support because her kit provides wide AoE damage, strong offensive buffs, and synergy with Fire and Ice units, making her extremely flexible and powerful for open-world content.
Mina performs exceptionally well because she offers stable AoE damage with very low cooldowns, allowing her to continuously clear enemies as long as her Essence is maintained properly.
Esther is highly effective due to her ability to turn basic attacks into sweeping AoE damage inside her field while also confusing enemies, which improves survivability during fights.
Sangun excels because of his long range, fast attack speed, and simple gameplay loop, giving him very high uptime compared to cooldown-reliant characters.
Flare is slightly different from others in this tier because her AoE is weaker, but her high damage against tougher enemies and bosses makes progression faster and safer overall.
A+ Tier
Gabi and Ophelia perform similarly as Fighters, but both have limitations in AoE, as Gabi needs to build Spiritual Power stacks while Ophelia relies heavily on auto attacks, making their damage less immediate compared to top-tier units.
Jiwon is highly situational because she mainly buffs Wind damage and provides grouping utility, which is strong only if your team is built around Wind DPS characters.
Angel is a strong AoE-focused character who clears enemies efficiently and also works as a sub-DPS, though she lacks strong boss damage.
Benjamin provides consistent AoE through his support skill triggers and becomes stronger with awakenings, but his on-field performance is relatively weak.
A Tier
Cloud offers a balanced mix of AoE and stagger damage through his Ice Crystal system, but his performance improves significantly with awakenings due to slower stacking early on.
Penny and Sera both provide solid AoE damage and are enjoyable to use, but they require investment to match higher-tier characters.
Bonnie is a unique support who focuses on AoE explosions and boosting critical damage, becoming much stronger with awakenings but less effective early.
B–C Tier
Verna and Reina both feel clunky due to their mechanics, requiring more setup time and precise execution, which reduces their efficiency in fast clearing.
Leeho and Yeonhwa struggle because they take too long to deal effective AoE damage, making them less practical for open-world farming.
Francis and Daisy are healers who offer limited value in this mode, although Francis has some utility through damage buffs while Daisy is mostly restricted by stationary healing mechanics.
Ellie is a niche unit who performs poorly in open-world content because her kit relies on off-field buildup, making her slow for general use.
Conquest Tier List
This mode is focused entirely on defeating a single boss quickly, so damage, stagger, and utility matter much more than AoE.
S Tier
Flare is one of the strongest characters here because of her high damage and excellent Neutralization, allowing her to break boss defenses efficiently.
Narae provides both damage and shielding, making fights faster and safer at the same time.
Mina delivers consistent damage due to her low cooldowns, allowing her to maintain pressure throughout the fight even with lower stagger potential.
Esther performs well in boss fights because Assassins gain bonuses against staggered enemies, allowing her to deal high burst damage during key windows.
A+ Tier
Gabi, Sangun, and Ophelia all perform well as Fighters with strong sustained damage, although Gabi tends to scale better due to her ultimate and utility.
Jiwon becomes situational because her buffs mainly benefit Wind teams, though stamina reduction still provides value.
Ellie is highly effective in this mode due to her strong burst Neutralization damage and small healing support, making her excellent for stagger-focused strategies.
A Tier
Cloud and Reina both provide decent stagger and burst damage but require more setup compared to higher-tier characters.
Sera and Penny offer balanced damage output and can handle bosses well but lack the efficiency of top-tier picks.
Benjamin contributes as a Lightning sub-DPS with consistent Neutralization, though his value depends on team composition.
Francis provides healing along with damage buffs, making her useful for survivability and team support.
B–C Tier
Verna, Leeho, and Yeonhwa struggle due to low consistent damage or poor Neutralization, making them less effective choices.
Angel is less effective here because her AoE-focused kit does not translate well into single-target boss fights.
Bonnie provides some support through critical damage buffs but requires investment to justify her use.
Daisy is the weakest option for this mode because her kit forces stationary play and offers minimal benefit in fast-paced boss fights.
Dimensional Rift Tier List
This mode rewards fast clearing, mobility, and efficient use of abilities.
S Tier
Narae continues to dominate because her buffs and AoE damage accelerate overall clear speed significantly.
Mina excels due to her dash mechanics and consistent damage output, allowing her to move quickly between targets.
Sangun performs well because of his range and uptime, making him a reliable main DPS.
Angel fits perfectly here because of her balanced mix of AoE, range, and burst damage.
Jiwon becomes much stronger in this mode due to her grouping and stamina reduction, which directly improves clear speed.
A+ Tier
Gabi and Ophelia perform well but are slower in clearing compared to top-tier AoE units.
Esther remains useful but is limited by cooldown-based AoE and slightly lower burst efficiency.
Benjamin provides valuable sub-DPS support and benefits from the lower difficulty of Rift bosses.
Flare is still strong for boss segments but less useful during general clearing.
A Tier
Penny offers consistent AoE damage with low cooldowns, making her a solid pick with enough investment.
Ellie provides useful Neutralization but is more situational in this mode.
Francis stands out as the best healer here due to her buffs and decent AoE.
Cloud offers a strong balance of AoE and stagger, making him more competitive than expected.
B–C Tier
Verna and Leeho remain awkward and require awakenings to feel effective.
Sera performs slightly better due to her AoE-focused abilities but still falls behind stronger options.
Yeonhwa and Bonnie depend heavily on critical-based setups, making them less efficient without proper builds.
Reina struggles due to awkward AoE and high investment requirements.
Daisy remains one of the weakest picks due to her stationary playstyle and lack of impactful utility.
