This guide walks you through how the Armament Institute works, what research paths exist, how to progress them efficiently, and why star upgrades make a huge difference in your late-game power scaling.
Armament Institute Guide – T11 Research Path in Last War
What is the Armament Institute?
The Armament Institute is a single-level, non-upgradable building unlocked after Season 4 ends and your HQ reaches Level 27.
Key Functions:
- Hosts four essential research paths required to unlock T11 troops
- Allows star upgrades for additional troop enhancements
- Contributes directly to Troop Power, aiding Restricted Area progression
How to Access It
- Finish Season 4 (Off-Season must begin)
- Upgrade your HQ to Level 27
- The Armament Institute becomes buildable with no upgrade levels needed
⚠️ Once built, this building is your central hub for T11 progress.
The Four Research Branches
Each branch must be fully completed (100%) to unlock T11 troops.
1. Helmet Research
- This is the first and mandatory branch.
- Completing this unlocks the remaining three research paths.
2. Armor Research
- Focuses on defensive attributes of T11 troops
- Boosts synergy with Armored Troopers
3. Weapon Research
- Enhances attack attributes for all T11 units
- Pairs well with Assault Raider playstyle
4. Boots Research
- Impacts mobility and speed-related bonuses
- Can affect both PvP performance and campaign speed
Each research branch has multiple levels and every few levels come with increased resource requirements and longer completion times.
Resource Requirements
Each Armament Research requires two unique resources:
Armament Materials
- Required for every research level
- Earned from:
- Restricted Area Training (passive loot)
- Boss Fights in Alert Tower
- Packs in Weekly Deals
Armament Cores
- Required every 5th level
- Has a lower drop rate and more valuable
- Sources:
- Boss Fights (Alert Tower)
- Random drops from loot boxes
- Purchase packs for guaranteed quantities
🔔 Tip: Always aim to defeat bosses in Restricted Area to farm both resources efficiently.
Armament Institute & Troop Power
Each level of research you complete in the Armament Institute slightly increases your Troop Power. This is crucial for beating stronger Restricted Area bosses, which in turn helps you farm more resources.
Troop Power = Progress
Progress = Resources
Resources = More Research
More Research = T11 Troops
📌 In other words: Power = Progress
Star Levels & Passive Bonuses
Once you unlock T11 troops, you can continue upgrading each Armament research with star levels.
Star Level Benefits:
Star Level | Armored Trooper Bonus | Assault Raider Bonus |
---|---|---|
1-Star | Ignores part of enemy’s “Reduce Damage Taken” effect | Same |
2-Star | Counterattack on battle loss | Restore lightly wounded units on success |
3-Star | Increased Lethality rate (both types) | Same |
4-Star | Reduce severe wound rate | Reduce penalty when not at full squad capacity |
⭐ These bonuses make T11 troops scale beyond stats. Choosing which star level to aim for depends on your playstyle (defense vs. offense).
