“What is this… and should I be using it?” This is one of those updates that looks simple on the surface but can actually be really valuable if you play it smart. So instead of rushing trades and regretting it later, let’s go through how it actually works and what you should be doing.
Platinum Trader
Think of the Platinum Trader as a conversion system.
You take items from your inventory and trade them for a new currency called:
- Platinum Points
But here’s the catch:
- You can only do each trade once per event
- Some trades require very valuable materials
So this isn’t something you spam. It’s more like a “monthly decision-making system.”
Platinum Points
Once you trade items, you earn Platinum Points, which you can then spend in the shop.
From what we know:
- Max total per event is around 69 Platinum Points
- This event is monthly
- Points carry over to next month
That last part is huge. It means you don’t have to force bad purchases just to spend everything.
Monthly Event
This isn’t a one-time thing.
The developers confirmed that:
- It resets every month
- Trade options may rotate
- Shop rewards may stay or change
So your mindset should shift from:
“Spend everything now”
to:
“Plan across multiple months”
Let’s be real for a second. Some of the trades are expensive.
You’re trading things like:
- 4-star ascension items (Tabards, Rings, etc.)
- Emblems (hundreds at a time)
- Rare crafting materials
And the higher Platinum rewards come from the most painful trades.
So always ask yourself:
- Do I actually need this resource later?
- Am I slowing down hero progression for this?
Because sometimes… you are.
Quick Tip
A small but very useful feature:
When you tap an item in the trader, it shows:
- How many you currently have
So you don’t need to leave the screen and check manually.
Always double-check before trading, especially with rare items.
Free Monthly Gift
There’s also a free reward tied to the event.
You usually get to choose between options like:
- Energy flasks
- Resource bundles
- Other utility items
It’s not Platinum Points (unfortunately), but still worth grabbing every time.
Platinum Shop
This is where things get interesting.
The shop has multiple items, but not all are equal.
Top Tier Item
- Tome of Limit Break II (Costs 66 Platinum Points)
This is the big one.
What it does:
- Lets you double limit break a hero
- Replaces a huge amount of materials
It’s basically equivalent to:
- 10 Alpha Aethers
- Several high-tier ethers
This is easily the best value item in the shop.
Other Notable Options
If you can’t reach 66 points, you still have solid alternatives:
- Legendary Tome of Experience
- Alpha Aethers (x3)
- 4-star Trainer Troops
- Master Trainers
- Golden Emblem
- Troop Coins
- Loot Tickets
These are cheaper and more flexible, but obviously less impactful than the top item.
Strategy
Let’s keep it practical.
If You Can Reach 66 Points
- Go for Tome of Limit Break II
- No debate, it’s the best value
If You’re Slightly Short
- Wait until the event is about to end
- You might get extra resources from:
- Titans
- Wanted chests
- Tournaments
