Ants Empire Beginner Guide

Struggling to grow your colony in Ants Empire? Here’s my casual, first-hand guide with working codes, feeding tips, and what I learned after three days of grinding sugar, star fruit, and spiders.

Ants Empire Beginner Guide

Colony / Inventory basics

Star Fruit: Use to upgrade an ant’s rarity (upgrades up to Epic). Only use on ants you plan to keep — they’re expensive and valuable.

Crafting Materials: Different eggs require different materials (examples from the video):

  • Stinger egg needs stingers.
  • Leaf car egg needs leaves.
  • Bullet egg needs spider legs.

Golden Leaves: Premium/secondary currency used for special items. Save and spend on high-value purchases that accelerate growth.

Ant roles & index

Open the Index to see stats and behavior for each ant type (e.g., Demon ant = passive damage per second on harvest). Use this to decide which ants to farm and star-fruit upgrade.

Focus on feeding and upgrading ants that match your current goals (harvest speed, combat, or resource yield).

Progression priorities (what to do first)

Redeem codes immediately.

Upgrade tools (axe/mining tool, etc.) — faster gathering drastically shortens grind time.

Increase backpack capacity so you spend less downtime returning to base.

Feed your strongest ants with common resources (sugar, materials) — prioritize ants with high base stats.

Buy star fruit selectively to push a few ants to Rare/Epic rather than spreading them thin.

Complete milestones & quests — many milestones permanently buff your colony (gather speed, yield, etc.).

Unlock auto-farm and set it to the best region for your current quest or material needs.

Farming & materials — practical tips

Auto-farm: Use it for repetitive farming areas. It highlights the chosen area in green and keeps your grinding efficient. Great if you’re hunting a specific crafting mat.

Spider legs / mushroom area: The spider/mushroom zone exists later in the map and requires a very high food threshold (video mentions 500M food to unlock). Plan long-term if you aim for materials from that zone.

Combat materials: To get materials (spider legs, beetle drops), use soldier/army ants or craft army eggs to reliably defeat those enemies.

Feeding and leveling ants

Use sugar and other basic resources to level ants — leveling increases their harvest power and usefulness.

Only feed star fruit to ants you will keep; it’s the fastest path to guaranteed higher rarity.

Golden leaves can buy special items — evaluate returns before spending.

Crafting eggs and army eggs

Crafting requires the right materials (spider legs, leaves, stingers). Save resources toward the egg type you need.

Army eggs are essential for fighting higher-tier insects (spiders, beetles). If you can’t kill a creature in a zone, craft army eggs first.

Tools, upgrades, and UI notes

Tool upgrades: Power tool and similar upgrades significantly increase gather speed — they are high priority.

Backpack upgrades: More capacity = fewer trips back = faster XP and resource gain.

Upgrade menu: Check the top-left upgrade buttons for nests, slots, gather tools, and other quality-of-life upgrades.

Milestones & quests

Milestones: Hit long-term thresholds (total food gathered, number of ants, etc.) for permanent buffs. Keep an eye on milestone rewards and aim toward meaningful ones (e.g., +% gather).

Quests: Regularly complete daily/weekly quests — they are a steady source of progression materials and unlocks.

Combat & zone progression

If you can’t defeat enemies in a zone, either:

Train/upgrade soldier ants, or

Craft and deploy army eggs.

Spider and mushroom areas require substantial resources to reach; plan your resource allocation so you can unlock them when ready.

Best early-game strategy (recommended order)

Redeem codes.

Upgrade tool and backpack once each.

Farm sugar/materials while using auto-farm to complete quests.

Save star fruit for one or two target ants.

Craft army eggs when you need to clear higher-tier insects for crafting materials.

Progress milestones and unlock next areas in sequence.

Mid- to late-game pointers

Don’t spread star fruit across many low-value ants. Optimize a small number of “carry” ants.

Prioritize unlocking and maxing the tool upgrades that match your playstyle (if you prefer active play, prioritize gather speed; if you’re AFK, prioritize backpack and passive gains).

Keep a list of recipes for desirable eggs and farm the corresponding materials. Some materials are zone-locked, so prepare to unlock those zones first.

Common mistakes to avoid

Burning star fruit on every ant — save them for top-tier candidates.

Ignoring milestone rewards — they compound and make later stages much easier.

Spending golden leaves impulsively — treat them as a premium currency for major boosts.

Redeemable codes (redeem in Settings → Codes)

From the video, useful codes to try (case may matter — enter exactly as shown here):

  • sugar
  • boost
  • colony
  • pherammon
  • bonus
  • I like food
  • 989
  • flame
  • bed bugs
  • fishy fish
  • super secret

Redeem codes as soon as you create a new account. They often include temporary boosts (harvest multipliers, materials, or star fruits) that help early progression massively.
