Tiles Survive Hero Mastery Guide – Counters, Passives

One thing that confuses a lot of players is losing fights even when their marching power looks higher. It happens often in places like mines or arena battles, where the numbers seem to say you should win.

The reason usually comes down to counters and hero types rather than raw power alone.

Hero Counter System

Each hero faction counters another. Green mountain heroes counter cloud heroes, while desert heroes counter the green ones.

Because of this, the game doesn’t always show the real advantage during the power calculation, since counters aren’t fully reflected in the displayed numbers.

Rally Bonuses and Hidden Stats

Rally composition also adds hidden bonuses, like final health boosts when certain hero combinations are used.

These bonuses exist in fights but aren’t fully reflected in the visible power numbers, which is why some battles feel unexpectedly difficult.

Importance of Hero Skills

Understanding what each hero does matters a lot. Some heroes are strong healers, while others specialize in dealing burst damage quickly.

For example, certain heroes can heal heavily during fights, while others act as “nuke” heroes designed to eliminate those healers fast.

Shields and Damage Timing

Some heroes also activate shields, which reduce incoming damage. Without targeting them directly with strong abilities, they can survive much longer than expected.

This makes timing and targeting important during battles.

Passive Skill Playstyle

Some players build their lineups around passive bonuses instead of raw damage. Passive skills can increase attack, defense, or health for all allied heroes.

These bonuses often stack together and aren’t always reflected clearly in displayed power, which can lead to surprising battle outcomes.

Special Gear Buffs

Special gear can also provide percentage-based bonuses to all allies. These effects apply during battles but don’t always appear in power calculations.

Because of that, teams built around these buffs can perform much stronger than their power suggests.

Arena Counter Advantage

Arena battles give more time to examine enemy lineups before fighting. This makes it easier to adjust your heroes to counter opponents effectively.

In contrast, quick attacks rely more on raw marching power since there’s less opportunity to adjust lineups.
