Zombie Fortress Trap Defense Guide Wiki – Boss Waves

If you just started playing Zombie Fortress and things already feel a little chaotic, don’t worry — the game actually becomes very easy once you understand where your real power comes from.

I have been testing different tower setups and upgrade paths, and this guide covers what actually works, what to focus on early, and how to clear stages smoothly without wasting resources.

Before you even think about upgrading towers, make sure you are collecting everything the game gives you for free.

Use Scout and Quick Scout every day.
Quick Scout is especially important because it gives you a large amount of screws and experience just for watching a short ad.

Always check:

  • Gift box (even when the red dot is fake)
  • Daily missions
  • Login rewards
  • Monster Book rewards

Every new monster you discover gives free gems, and killing them in large numbers gives even more. This is one of the easiest ways to stack gems early.

Where to Spend Your Resources

In the Shop, always use the Epic Tower Draw instead of the normal one.

The normal draw mostly gives common towers.
The Epic draw gives you a chance at Rare and Epic towers, which are dramatically better.

Use your screws to:

  • Level towers you are actively using
  • Enhance towers when you get duplicates (this unlocks bonus stats)

Do not spread upgrades across everything. Pick a core set and invest into those.

Tower Upgrades

  • Green arrow = Level upgrade (uses screws)
  • Yellow arrow = Enhance upgrade (requires duplicates)

Enhancing towers adds powerful bonus stats like increased attack damage, which makes a huge difference later on.

Always preview towers by tapping the little magnifying glass to see how they actually perform before putting them into your deck.

The Best Tower in the Game (Right Now)

Your MVP is the Log Roller.

This tower is broken in the best possible way.

Why it is so good:

  • Extremely high HP
  • Strong damage
  • Can physically block zombies
  • Logs roll through terrain and hit enemies behind walls

You can use Log Rollers to both deal damage and create walls that stop enemies completely.

Build multiple Log Rollers and upgrade them aggressively.

How to Place Towers Properly

You can move towers during combat.

Just long-press a tower and drag it wherever you need.

Use this to:

  • Box zombies into choke points
  • Move damaged towers to safety
  • Reposition your main damage dealers

High-HP towers like Log Rollers should be used as blockers.
Low-HP towers like Drum Cannons and Carts should be kept behind them for safe damage.

Upgrade Strategy During Fights

When you level up mid-battle, always prioritize:

  • Tower Tier increases
  • Attack and Attack Speed upgrades on Log Rollers

First 6 waves are easy — use them to build your core Log Roller wall.

By Wave 7+, your wall should already be forming.

Boss Waves Made Easy

Bosses struggle heavily against stacked Log Rollers.

Build 2–4 Log Rollers in a line and let Drum Cannons and Ultrasonic towers sit safely behind them.
Keep upgrading attack speed and tier on the logs.

Bosses melt while getting stuck.
